新年

hello everyone. hello 2009.
To start with this year, Owen and I made a little kitchen from timber pieces which used to be a treasure box or toy box or something. It was all falling apart and brother-in-low was going to fix it but instead, he gave it to us to make the kitchens.
This was planned for such a long time but it seemed we did not have time or somehow we put it off but on new year day, we were at friends house at NSW and watching at Oliver playing with the kitchen they have, we wanted to make one so badly. Now it is sitting in our kitchen and whenever I am doing something in the kitchen, Oliver
enjoys playing there too. Hopefully he will be helping me in the real kitchen a little more. Picture will be here sometime soon.
Another thing I made was new pants for Oliver. Well they are sample one. I might put it in my shop sometime for " made to order ".
I am starting to feel really excited to go to japan already. Less than two months now. Our dear friend, Akiko is in Japan at the moment and she will be visiting home town soon. It is so nice that my friends now are friends with her too( my friends came to see us last year and they really liked her too). And more of my friends are so looking forward to seeing her there. How nice.
Ok time to finish.
Happy new year everyone.

see you in 2009

another succesful harvest two days ago. They are both cucumbers.

So heavy!

Food that we took to the beach picnic on the christmas day.

Homemade natoo.
I have been busy making things again including Owen's linen underpants. Why didn't I think that? Linen dresses and pants are so comfortable on our skin. They must be so nice and breathy for riding bikes especially. So I made one pair for him and he really likes them. I will be busy making more of them very soon. As well as some little linen pants to send to Zakkaya and more things. But for now, I am taking a break, leaving for NSW in the afternoon to see some friends just like last new year's eve.
Thank you for all the comments, e-mails and beautiful things.
Happy new year!

camera talk

Some presents...bits and pieces.
About my camera, well the lense to be exact, it is not pentax or nicon but, pentacon (what a funny name!) auto 1.8/50 multicoat. We found it in a local cash converter where I found my sewing machine AND my overlocker too! We try not to buy new things but see if we can find pre-loved one first then do lots of research usually. I am just looking around this flat and most of the things I have and love are pre-loved including the piano. Things were made to last and that's the way it should be.
Going back to the camera talk,
the camera itself is Canon EOS kiss digital and it is almost 5 years old model.
I have got one more linen pants order before christmas. I really love working with linen fabric. Soaking it, ironing it, cutting it, sewing it, stencilling it, ironing it and folding it. Every little bit I love. And I love making them for someone special too.
Time for a cup of tea and some sweet!
Good night.
